Hello Reader

This week’s project is for the book lovers.

I created a floral card with a pocket on the front that holds a handmade bookmark. So instead of giving just a card, you are also giving a little gift they can actually use.

You could pair it with a new book, add it to a birthday gift or send it simply because someone could use a cheerful piece of happy mail.

And yes, you can fit two bookmarks in the pocket. Because honestly, who has only one book on the go?

This week’s project

The card features Velvet Meadow Designer Series Paper with Cloud Cover, Berry Burst and Peaceful Pine.

In the tutorial, I show you how to:

  • create the angled pocket
  • make two bookmark styles
  • layer the coordinating cardstock and DSP
  • fussy cut flowers from the patterned paper
  • add a message to the back of the bookmark
  • decorate the inside and envelope

A small reminder

Cards do not need an occasion.

Sometimes the best reason to send one is simply that you were thinking about someone.

A handmade card can brighten a rough day, reconnect you with a friend or remind someone they matter. That is a pretty good return on a few pieces of paper and a stamp.
